English Football League Trophy Betting

The English Football League Trophy (EFL Trophy) is an annual tournament contested by 64 teams from England’s lower leagues. The tournament involves hundreds of matches and this of course means that there are a plenty of betting opportunities and here at mr.play Sports we bring you everything you need to capitalise on all of them. We offer masses of betting markets with some of the most generous odds around, giving you the chance to win more with every bet.

English Football League Trophy Odds & Markets

Football presents fans with a huge number of betting opportunities, as there are so many different aspects of the sport that can be bet on. This means that there are masses of betting markets available, which can feel slightly overwhelming to a newcomer. However, they are actually very straightforward and by using them together, it is possible to build some advanced betting strategies. When you first look at the EFL Trophy betting markets you will notice that they are split into two main sections. There are Outright markets, which relate to the tournament as a whole, and there are Game Odds markets, which relate to the individual games.

The most straightforward outright betting market, and the most popular, is on which team will win the tournament. This market’s odds will be updated as the tournament progresses and the favourites emerge. As such, if you can pick out a winner in the early stages, then you may be able to find some truly generous odds. You can also place it as an each way bet. This means that you are backing the team to win or finish in the places (it actually requires two individual bets). If the team wins then you are paid out for both bets while if they finish in the places then you will just win the second bet. However, it allows you to build some flexibility into your strategy. There will likely be many more outright betting markets that interest you as the tournament progresses, such as who the top goal scorer will be, so be sure to check them regularly, as you never know what you may find.

While outright markets are a lot of fun, the majority of bets placed are through the Game Odds markets. It is not uncommon to find more than 100 different markets available for each game in the tournament. You will find the markets split into easy to navigate categories such as Main, Goals, Halves, Corners, Players and Cards. The categories are self-explanatory, as are most of the markets contained within them. For instance, the 1X2 Full Time market is on a team to win or the match to end in a draw, the Exact Score market requires you to predict the score, the Total Goals market is an Under/Over bet, and so on.

As you delve deeper into the categories and the betting markets, you will soon realise that you can be very specific with your bets. For instance, you can bet on which team will be ahead at halftime and by how much, you can bet on which player or team will score first, you can bet on the number of corners in a match, on cards, fouls, and far more. By using these different markets together, you can make every moment of a match into an exciting bet winning opportunity.

English Football League Trophy Live In-Play Betting

If you want to make watching an EFL Trophy match even more exciting then you can make use of our live in-play betting markets. These are markets that only become available while the game is in progress and their odds are updated in real time as the action takes place. You will find that most of the Game Odds markets are also available in-play, so you can still bet on which team will win, the exact score, corners, and so on. However, there are some categories of bet that are only available in-play, in particular, the Next To bets. As the name suggests, these are bets on what will happen next in a match. For instance, you can bet on a team or player being the next to score, the next to foul, the next to take a corner, and so on. This way, you can combine your analysis of the game with our odds and markets to give yourself more chances to win. You will also find Fast Markets. These allow you to bet on whether something will happen in the next few minutes. For instance, you could bet on there being a goal, card, corner, penalty, or simply nothing, in the next minute. To help you with your in-play bets, we also bring you live updates from the match and statistics.
